The Wolf Among Us Returns: Why Its Dark Fairy-Tale Detective Story Deserves Another Life

The Big Bad Wolf has traded forests and houses of straw for a sheriff's office, cigarettes and criminal investigations. That is the premise of The Wolf Among Us, which Telltale is preparing to remaster for October 29, 2026. Its return offers an opportunity to revisit one of narrative gaming's most distinctive ideas: turning familiar fairy-tale heroes and monsters into characters from an urban crime thriller.
