Cannes opened with one premiere in the Lumière and more than 980 screenings across France

A Cannes opening film normally creates scarcity. A few thousand people see it first, photographs travel everywhere, and the wider audience waits for distribution to catch up. The Electric Kiss did almost the opposite on May 12. As Pierre Salvadori's film premiered inside the Grand Théâtre Lumière, French theaters were already screening the same opening-night program across the country.
